Amy virée de l'album Tribute to Quincy Jones ?

Legendary music producer Quincy Jones has rescinded an invitation to troubled singer Amy Winehouse to record a track for a tribute album being recorded in his honor.

According to various news reports, Winehouse and producer Mark Ronson were personally invited by Jones to join an all-star lineup for the record, but Jones has been waiting for over a year for the contribution and is said to be fuming over the apparent snub.


Winehouse was apparently signed on with Ronson to record a cover of Lesley Gore's 1964 hit "You Don't Own Me," which Jones produced in 1964. Jones is reported to have also offered her the chance to perform with Michael Jackson at a live concert to celebrate the album's release, but that won't be happening either.

"The track isn't finished and she's not around," Ronson told the U.K.'s Daily Mirror. "If she's not here then, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it."

The Daily Mirror also quotes an anonymous source as saying, "The frustrating thing is what there is of the track sounds really good, but it looks like no one will ever get to hear it," the source said. "Mark tried everything to get her back in the studio to finish it, but he's given up and everyone else is starting to too. Quincy Jones is one of the most respected men in the music industry, so it was a huge honor for Amy to be asked to record for him. To snub him is a big no-no."

Winehouse has spent the last several months living in her adopted Caribbean home of St. Lucia, where reports say she has recorded bits and pieces of at least 18 new tracks for the follow-up album to 2006's multiple Grammy-winning Back To Black. Tabloid reports, however, have also suggested that Winehouse is drinking heavily, and has not spent much time in the studio.

She was scheduled to perform in London next week – her first 2009 performance in the U.K. – at the 50th anniversary celebration of her label, Island Records, but the gig was cancelled late last week for unspecified reasons.

She made a brief return to the stage at St. Lucia's annual jazz festival this past May, but Rolling Stone reported – and various YouTube videos confirmed – that Winehouse was unsteady on her feet and had trouble remembering lyrics. At one point she even apologized to the crowd for being "bored." She ended her set by walking off the stage in the middle of a song.

And, in a posting last week on her MySpace blog that has since been deleted, Winehouse announced that a documentary of her life is being filmed by journalist Daphne Barak. The film is supposed to be released later this year, and is tentatively titled, Saving Amy.

"Amy and her family will be the subject of a new documentary later this year," the deleted announcement read. "The journalist spent time with Amy and her family recently on St. Lucia, and in true honest to goodness Amy style, the doc will be a truthful and revealing look at her complicated lifestyle."
